The epitome of comfort food, there’s nothing quite like a hot baked lasagne! And with a topping of crispy cheese, grilled to perfection, it’s a meal that’s hard to resist.

- 500g beef mince
- 1 onion finely chopped
- ½ tsp chopped garlic
- 250g sliced mushrooms
- 100g tomato paste
- 410g OK tomato and onion mix
- 1 packet cheese sauce
- 100 grated cheese
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Lasagna sheets
METHOD
- Preheat the oven to 180OC.
- Heat the oil in a pot and cook the onions, mushrooms and garlic for about 5 minutes.
- Add the mince with salt and pepper, and brown for a further 5 minutes.
- Lower the heat and add first the tomato paste and give it a mix, and then the tomato and onion mixture and mix it all together.
- Leave to simmer on the stove top on low heat.
- Mix up a batch of cheese or white savoury sauce from a sachet using boiling water (follow the instructions on the packet).
- In a baking dish, pour a thin layer of the white sauce, followed by a layer of pasta sheets, and then a layer of the mince sauce, followed by a layer of white sauce. Repeat until all of the sauce has been used up.
