Running for Penguin Conservation with Grootbos Foundation
On Saturday, the Grootbos Cross-country team joined ultra-trail runner Nick Burger for the final kilometres of his 72 km challenge from Grotto Beach in Hermanus to the African Penguin and Seabird Sanctuary.
Nick took on the challenge during Penguin Month in October to raise funds for penguin conservation, inviting others to support the cause in partnership with the Dyer Island Conservation Trust.
The Grootbos Foundation team was invited to join the excitement, cheer Nick on and support this local conservation initiative.
What a wonderful way to combine sport and community spirit to raise awareness and funds for the protection of our African penguins!
