Dr John Bosco Habarulema, a space science researcher at the South African National Space Agency (SANSA) in Hermanus, is the recipient of an award for Research Excellence from the American Geophysical Union (AGU).
Dr Habarulema was one of two winners of the prestigious 2016 Africa Award for Research Excellence in Space Science.
Established in 2015, these twin awards - in space science and earth/ocean sciences - recognise early-career scientists from the African continent for outstanding contributions to research in Earth and Space sciences.
John’s research is expanding our understanding of Earth and Space sciences and making it more accessible to the scientific community. He is also a dedicated mentor and role model for young African scientists.
