Pearly Beach is one of the quietest towns on the Cape Whale Coast and is embraced by long stretches of white sandy beaches. A cool, blue-azure ocean lazily ebbs and flows against the shore and visitors to the area get to experience coastal bliss without all the masses of people that usually flock to seaside towns. The area is set in the heart of the Cape Floral Kingdom and is a nature lover's dream come true, with an abundance of fauna and endemic flora that remain undisturbed, just waiting to be discovered by you.

  • The Cape Whale Coast is a hive of activity between June - December when Southern Right Whales migrate to the southern shorelines of South Africa. Enjoy land based whale watching in Pearly Beach without the throngs of tourists who flock to the more populated seaside towns.
  • Enjoy the tranquility of peaceful and nearly deserted beaches as you have some fun in the South African sun. During peak holiday seasons there is a safe demarcated swimming beach which has a lifeguard on duty.
  • For the keen fisherman there are a myriad of recreational fishing opportunities along the Gansbaai coastline, and the area is popular with rock- and surf-anglers as well as those sea-lovers who enjoy fishing by boat.
  • There are no streetlights to interfere with the magical canopy of stars that shine down on you at night. It’s no coincidence that the Southern Cape Astronomy Club has its home base in Pearly Beach.
  • The long stretches of coastline offer those who love to take a stroll, interesting beach hiking opportunities.
