The MHR Rockets Funky Fynbos Mountain Bike Race is one of those true country mountain bike rides that will take you on an amazing adventure through private land in the Uilkraal Valley / Gansbaai. The routes traverse fynbos conservancies and farms, with magnificent views over the mountains to the sea. The climbs are tough and the descents along jeep tracks and purpose built single tracks are full of exhilaration and fun. Along the route there will be something for all to enjoy, whether you like technical riding and fast, fun downhills, or stunning views while riding in pristine fynbos with its fantastic flora and bird life.

Add to this the farm experience and hospitality, family activities and the Funky Fynbos Festival including some exciting new venue activities, a truly wonderful weekend getaway!

45km Monster - ENTER NOW

Deceptively short, this ride really is a monster, not for the faint hearted. The route is characterised by steep uphills, switchbacks and fast technical descents, with jumps, single track and fantastic views.

Local riders experience parts of this ride as the most difficult mountain bike ride in Gansbaai, and now the route has been extended for the race.
This year we have the distance and have added some more exciting single track.

Expect to finish tired and exhilarated!

30km Fun route for the fit and strong - ENTER NOW

The 30km ride is a fun route for the fit and strong with steep uphills and single track. You will be riding through private land on a route that is not normally available to the public. The route profile is the same in the beginning to the 45km Monster but allows you to avoid the sting in the tail.

Enjoy the view!

10km Moderately Easy Ride - ENTER NOW

This is a moderately easy ride for the not so fit that will get you out into the fynbos and give you a good workout.

Have Fun!

We are proud to have MHR Rockets on board as our primary sponsor and thank them for their generous contributions including start and finish arches, branded T-shirts for our marshals and organisers, ice baths, masseurs, goodie bags for the athletes. They will also have a retail shop on - site selling their range of compression sports gear, mohair socks and more. Please support them, without whom much of our sporting events would not be possible at the scale we have them.
