Venter is a South African war journalist, documentary filmmaker, and author of more than forty books, who also served as an Africa and Middle East correspondent for, Jane's International Defence Review. He has also written six books on underwater diving, finishing his major work, on free-diving (out of cages). The book, Shark Stories contains exquisite, printed media of his experiences with these spectacular creatures.
