Lomond Wine Estate: Pioneers in Conservation and Preservation

Did You Know?

In a groundbreaking move in 2017, Lomond Wine Estate achieved a significant milestone by becoming the first wine farm in South Africa to commit 68 hectares of endangered Overberg Sandstone Fynbos and Elim Ferricrete Fynbos to a conservation servitude. This historic initiative, undertaken in collaboration with the Grootbos Foundation and Fauna and Flora International, serves as a steadfast guardian for the preservation of fragile ecosystems.

In 2023, we were recognised as a Conservation Champion by WWF and committed 600 ha into a Protected Area.

Conservation plays a crucial role in safeguarding populations of endangered species, including the Aloe judii - found only on Lomond and our neighbour Farm 215.

At Lomond Wine Estate, our commitment to conservation extends beyond the vineyards, nurturing the delicate balance of nature and ensuring the longevity of these rare and precious species.

Open Daily: 10am to 4pm, 7 days a week. Closed on Christmas Day and New Year's Day.
