Eerbetoon aan Ikamva se getroue en hardwerkende vrywillige werkers was die “spyskaart” vir ‘n bederfbyeenkoms Donderdag, 25 Augustus 2016 in die Blompark Gemeenskapsaal.

Die doel van die byeenkoms was om ‘n groep spesiale vroue behoorlik met verversings en netjies versierde tafels te bederf.

Moira Opperman (voorsitter) en Eliza Felix (sekretaresse) het die vroue met motiveringspraatjies bemoedig.

Ikamva se vrouewerkers en twee mans is intussen met die volgende bemagtig: NQL.4 (gemeenskapsgesondheid, breinfunksionering, wetlike aspekte en middelafhanklikheid), graad R diploma en NQL.5 (vroeë kinderontwikkeling).

Ikamva spog ook met hul eie stafverpleegster, Ena Geldenhuys, maatskaplike werker, Rialet Wood en hulpwerker Lezel Murtz.

Die benaming Ikamva, is ‘n Xhosa-woord wat “die toekoms” beteken en dít is presies waarop gefokus word.

Ikamva het nederig in Blompark begin, maar intussen na Baardskeerdersbos, Beverley Hills, Buffeljachts, Gansbaai, Masakhane, Pearly Beach en Stanford uitgebrei.

Hulle hoofdoel is die bemagtiging van die jeug en vroue, asook om alle vorme van misdade onder die jeug te beveg.
