At the end of 2016, we can on reflection, indeed be thankful for another blessed year!
A wise man once said “to love, means to give and receive that which can neither be bought nor sold, neither earned nor stolen”. So be kind to each other and extend a supportive hand to the sick, the lonely and the sad. After all, isn’t that the true meaning behind the Christmas spirit?
Aan al ons besoekers – ‘n warm en vriendelike verwelkoming in die Overstrand. Geniet ons gasvryheid, pragtige natuurskoon en strande. Wees asseblief versigtig met die maak van vure! Dit is nou ons brandseisoen en dit is warm en droog. Blus braaivleisvure na gebruik. Vuurwerke mag slegs op die voorgeskrewe areas afgeskiet word en nêrens anders nie- nie eers in u eie privaat erf nie. Dink asseblief aan die troeteldiere wat erg getraumatiseer raak met al die lawaai.
Werk asseblief saam en laat slegs u voetspore na wanneer u terugkeer huis toe en ons verwelkom u volgende keer weer met ope arms.
Unfortunately here in the Overstrand we also experience an increase in criminal activity during the festive season.
I call on all communities to be vigilant and report suspicious activities and vandalism of municipal properties to the police and law enforcement agents. We must show that we care, by protecting the properties of fellow human beings and by looking after the infra structure that the municipality has provided.
To the Gansbaai community - thank you once again for the support during the past year and it was a privilege to be of service to you.
It is my wish that you experience the blessings of Christmas and that the year 2017 brings peace and prosperity. May the true meaning of the season fill your heart and home with many blessings.
