The exposure triangle have to be taken into consideration in photographing water: Shutter speed - freezes or blur the movement. The faster the shutter speed, the less light is let through; Aperture - depth of field. Open the aperture to let in more light; ISO - sensor sensitivity. Adjust ISO to make the sensor more sensitive to enable more light to come through. (ISO stands for International Organisation for Standardisation).

Points to remember: To freeze movement - fast shutter speed; to blur moving water - slow shutter speed.

“Tips” for photographing waterfalls: slow shutter speed (2 seconds+); first or last light of the day, or an overcast day; tripod; ND Filter is needed – slow down; wind may have a negative effect on the background; Use a polarising filter for glare at the bottom and glare on wet rocks; Be aware of people or debris nearby the waterfall, however, people can create scale.

Navrae rakende lidmaatskap kan aan Veronica du Plessis by 084 826 8781 gerig word, of kontak Nelleke Ferreira by 082 403 3372. Die klub se webtuiste is www.gbpc.co.za.
