The Overstrand Democratic Alliance, Ward 2 and Ward 11, hosted a fundraising event at a restaurant in Baardskeerdersbos on Saturday the 20th of May 2017.
This event attracted a host of Overstrand’s democratic VIP’s which included the Executive Mayor, Rudolph Smith who was the key note speaker as well as Deputy Mayor, Dudley Coetzee who welcomed sponsors and contributors to the event.
Mayor Smith spoke about actual news stories and the negative legacy the reigning government is leaving for the country.
He appealed to voters to stand together in anticipation of the 2019 national elections.
In addition, Mayor Smith said: “We have to win back our country and its resources, in order to better the lives of our ordinary citizens through freedom, fairness and opportunities for all,” he said.
The event ended on a high, with Ward Councilor, Riana De Coning, closing with an analogy of the DA emblem.
Cllr Steven Fourie of Baardskeersdersbos initiated the breakfast event.
