The past weekend saw the knockout stage of the Nedbank Cup start, where the semi-finalists were determined from the rigorous league stages.
The 16 SAB teams were divided into 4 groups, where their log standing would determine to which stage of the knockout competition they would proceed to.
Group winners would challenge for the lucrative Trophy section; runners-up would challenge for the Shield section; 3rd place for the Bowl and the 4th placed teams would challenge for the Plate section honours.
After the semi-finals were conducted the past weekend in Gansbaai, the Day of Finals has arrived and will be upon us this coming weekend, Saturday the 26th of August at Gansbaai sports fields.
The great news is that Dr Danny Jordaan, SAFA President will be attending the event, and will be the guest of honour also to hand over the awards.
Both Solyx United FC and I&J Express FC that is in the Final are local teams of Gansbaai. Solyx United FC managed by Jacques van Lill and Thembelani Xovula is the only team in the tournament with a 100% win rating.
This is going to be a great final with a lot of talent to be watched in the future.
