A Heartfelt Thank You from Jaco, Owner of Boss Fit!
Life doesn’t improve by chance, it improves by change. After years of competing in bodybuilding shows, I planned to make 2023 my final year on stage. On the PCA stage, with the support of friends and family, I asked the girl of my dreams to be my wife. We were expecting our firstborn, and life was about to get very busy.
Then, the opportunity of a lifetime came - my own gym, Boss Fit! We started small in December 2023 with just a handful of members, mostly friends and family, while juggling a newborn and a new adventure.
I couldn’t own a gym and not do one last show to represent Boss Fit. Months of preparation led us to the Mossel Bay show in June 2024, where I took 2 staff members and 1 gym member with me. We brought home 5 first-place trophies, 1 second place, 2 third places, a fourth, and a fifth, with an invitation to compete at the South African Championships!
Two weeks later, at the Battle of the Titans, 2 of us competed again. I secured a first and a third place. The big one - The South African Championships - was tough, with the best of the best competing for the top title. I achieved third place in the Men’s Sports Model category and fourth place in the Physique category.
I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve achieved in the past year and thrilled with the results. A huge thank you to my unwavering supporter, my wife, my family, and especially my Boss Fit family. Your support made it possible for me to reach number 3 in SA!
