While many people reflect on the results of the presidential election in the United States of America, Stanford remembers the words of President John F. Kennedy who said, 'Ask not what your country can do for you; ask what you can do for your country.'

November  is  the month of giving back to the community while having the most fun possible in the little country village of Stanford. The more who join in  and get into the spirit of giving, the more people will benefit from a great line-up of charity events.

The Stanford Wine Route kicks off the great charity weekend on 25 November with their one year anniversary at the Sunset Market, 18:00 – 20:00 on the Market Square.

On Saturday, 26 November, the Stanford Wine Route also hosts the Stanford Stumble at Stanford Hills Estate. Folks can enter as a team, dress up, and proceed to stroll or stumble (very few run) through the vineyards on a 2km or 5km course, sipping superb Stanford wines at the numerous 'waterholes' along the route All funds raised by the Stumble, and the following auction go towards the Butterfly Foundation which funds the Butterfly Centre, a school for learning and teaching for special needs. On Sunday, 27 November, Stanford hosts the official Overberg Toy Run  Hundreds of motorcyclists from across the Overberg will ride their bikes to the Market Square bringing  toys  and  gifts for children during the festive season.

Spectators are encouraged to also donate a toy or gift, all of which will be distributed to children in need by the Lion Clubs and Rotary Clubs of Stanford, Gansbaai, Hermanus, Caledon and Bredasdorp.

Hang out with your friends and family, enjoy the live music and food stalls, and check out Stanford's first Junktique Market in the courtyard of the Tourism Office during the Toy Run, 09:00 – 11:00 on 27 November. There really is no better way to do a good deed and show your ge-nerosity than to support these fabulous Stanford events.

Stanford Animal Welfare hosts the annual Music on the Lawn on Saturday, 10 December.
