The wedding of Mathias & Rus Witte-Riding
On Saturday, 24 February, the couple was all set to get married on Grotto beach, Hermanus. It was almost time to get dressed after a whole morning of setting up gazebos. seating and decor for the special event. unfortunately the wind had other ideas, so the gazebo and chairs and flowers became airborn and was swallowed by the ocean!
This didn't stop the couple and the incredible staff from Dutchies, Hermanus! After running around to salvage what they could, they managed to create an even more romantic setting under milkwood trees next to the beach.
Everything was perfect. The couple were surrounded by close friends and family as they exchanged vows, safely nestled under the dense roof of trees.
To celebrate the couple, guests wrote good wishes on small pieces of paper attached to helium filled balloons, wich were released on the beach and swept away towards the mountains.
The wedding party was welcomed at Dutchies for champagne and Sushi and continued the celebration at Lizette's beautiful restaurant for more champaigne, Eastern food & wedding cake.
Rough start, but this wedding could not end in a more perfect way!
