A Little Catch-Up from Grootbos Foundation
You might have noticed that your Grootbos Foundation Feelgood Friday news has taken a short break over the last 2 weeks... truth is that the faithful communications team was knees-deep and heads down at the Chelsea Flowers in Stanford which has been a beautiful showcase of wild fynbos using the incredibly beautiful artforms of Leon Kluge's flower exhibit, the botanical artistry of the Grootbos Florilegium and the storytelling of the Grootbos Foundation conservation efforts. Thank you to everyone who supported this event. In the meantime, the normal day to day programmes of Grootbos Foundation has continued. This Feelgood update will include a few snippets that I didn't get to report on over the last 2 weeks...This photo is of a group of artists from the Botanical Artists' Association on SA that spent time workshopping together at the Grootbos Environmental Centre. This photo is of the Green Steward teams of independent contractors who do the hard manual labour of conservation by clearing invasive plants from the landscape in areas of greatest diversity. They visited the Chelsea Flowers in Stanford, so they too could experience the extravaganza of fynbos. They adored the visit and recognised themselves and their work, which is part of the showcase this year to hero the importance of their impact...
